The Springfield 1887 is a single shot, trapdoor action, breech-loading, hammer fired, rifle chambered in .45-70. This rifle was shortened from a full length rifle after original manufacture. It has adjustable elevation on the rear sight. This rifle is missing significant amounts of finish on its steel. The stock has minor defects. This rifle does not include a cleaning rod due to it being shortened.
