CMP service grade Springfield Armory M1 Garand chambered in .30-06 Springfield. This example features a 24" barrel and a blade front sight with protective sides, adjustable Springfield SA Type II lock bar aperture rear sight. The op rod is marked "D35382 9 SA" and the bolt is marked "D28287-19SA / A-6". The trigger group housing is marked "D28290-16-SA", a stamped unmarked trigger, "SA" stamped safety, "846008-7 SA" hammer. The gas cylinder is a wide base with a "P" and Triangle coded Springfield gas cylinder lock screw and beveled edge lock. The butt stock is a smooth hardwood pistol grip with "SA/GAW" stamp net to the crossed cannons and a "P" proof on the wrist of the stock. The forearm is smooth two-piece hardwood. The barrel is stamped "3 SA 2 45". The receiver is stamped "US RIFLE - CAL .30M1 - SPRINGFIELD ARMORY - 3472464". Overall this rifle remains in very good condition for a surplus rifle and comes with a CMP certificate.
