Description

The Springfield Model 1884 was one of the rifles which used the trapdoor breechblock design developed by Erskine S. Allin. An experienced soldier could fire between 8-10 round a minute with this rifle. This example is from 1890 and is still in great shape for it's age. The sling is marked Rock Island Arsenal. A nice piece for anyone's collection of military arms.
