Description
This rifle is actually an ultra-premium Mannlicher-Schönauer Model 1952, which was custom-engineered by Steyr specifically to conquer the American hunting market. It is chambered for one of America's favorite cartridges, the .270 Winchester. Steyr Mannlicher-Schönauer features design elements that are highly prized by collectors, and features include the Famous Rotary Spool Magazine: Instead of a traditional Mauser box magazine, it uses a Schönauer internal rotary spool magazine. It feeds cartridges in a smooth, circular path without any bullet-tip scraping, and features a button that lets you instantly unload all 5 rounds into your hand at once. The "Butter-Knife" Bolt Handle: Steyr outfitted these rifles with a distinctively shaped, flattened bolt handle that folds perfectly down against the stock. The Split Rear Receiver Bridge: The bolt handle actually travels right through the middle of the rear receiver wall when you cycle it. It has a dual safety with a rotating wing on the bolt, and a sliding button near the bolt handle. It was built in the year 1952.
