The Pro Hunter II SX incorporates Steyr's cutting-edge Safe Bolt System (SBS). This finish acts as an impervious shield, guarding against damage from rain, moisture, sweat, and blood.The SBS system by Steyr showcases a distinctive 3-position roller tang safety discreetly positioned behind the rear of the bolt. The SBS bolt, featuring four forward locking lugs requiring a 60-degree rotation to unlock, incorporates multiple gas ports. A patented safety bushing enhances protection against unforeseen excessive chamber pressure and escaping gases. Steyr has rigorously tested the bushing with high-pressure proof rounds at 120,000 psi without any damage to the rifle.Additionally, this model introduces an ingenious 2-stage magazine release. It enables users to safely close the bolt without chambering a round when the magazine is indexed to its lowest position, eliminating the need to remove the magazine from the rifle.
