The Smith & Wesson Performance Center 642 Double-Action Revolver is the small .38 special that all small J-frame revolvers are measured by. With a steel barrel and cylinder, the Airweight shaves some ounces off with the aluminum alloy frame. The 642 also features an enhanced double-action trigger pull that is fairly simple to "stage" right before what feels like a single-action trigger. The Model 642 also includes an internal safety lock and keys. The hammer is integral and enclosed for a snag-free design.
