Waffenfabrik Luger

The Bern Luger refers to a highly regarded series of Luger pistols manufactured entirely in Switzerland by the state-owned arsenal Waffenfabrik Bern (W+F Bern). While Germany originally designed and supplied the early Lugers, World War I disrupted the supply chain, leading Switzerland to license and produce the iconic firearm domestically starting in the 1920s. Model 1929 (Simplified Luger): Introduced to cut production costs. It features distinct aesthetic changes, including a simplified straight front strap (lacking the classic Luger grip curve), a simplified toggle assembly, and either wood, red canvas Bakelite, or dark brown plastic grips.
