The Warne Mfg RAMP30, also known as the Warne Rapid Acquisition Multi-Sight Platform (R.A.M.P.), is a cantilever style scope mounting platform. It is uniquely designed to accommodate proper scope installation on the increasingly popular AR-15 rifle. Originally, the AR platform was developed with fixed iron sights and did not provide a suitable surface for mounting optical instruments. As the weapon system progressed from its military precursors M16A1 to the more advanced models M16A3 and M4, Picatinny mounting systems were integrated as standard equipment. Despite these advancements, the rail system present in the M16A3 and M4 designs still did not allow a variable power optic to be positioned far enough forward with conventional scope mounts. The Warne R.A.M.P addresses this issue through its smart, modular mounting set-up that locates the front ring 1\" ahead of the upper receiver. This placement enables the optics to be mounted farther forward, allowing the shooter to maintain proper head orientation in both the upright or prone positions, without compromising due to ill-suited positioning.
