The Weatherby Mark XXII was well-known for accuracy, especially fired as a single shot. This was done by opening the action, loading a single round, and then closing the bolt by pushing the side lever forward to SS (single shot) to release the bolt. Autoloading was obtained by pulling the side lever rearward to the Auto position. The safety is the tang mounted slide switch. This rifle features Walnut Monte Carlo stock with skip-line checkering, jeweled bolt, and express rifle type folding leaf iron sights. The rifle handles like a big-game rifle without being bulky.
