Description
The Weatherby Vanguard Obsidian is a bolt-action rifle chambered in 7mm-08 Remington, designed for hunters who want dependable accuracy in the field. Its barrel and receiver are finished in graphite black Cerakote for a corrosion-resistant appearance, and the rifle ships without iron sights, so it is intended for use with an optic.
The rifle has a 22-inch #2 contour barrel with a 1/2x28 thread pattern for muzzle devices and a 1:9.5 twist rate. The fluted bolt body reduces weight and friction during cycling. The overall length is 42 inches and the rifle weighs 7.4 pounds. The magazine holds 4 rounds plus one in the chamber, and the three-position safety and two-stage adjustable trigger complete the action.
The black Monte Carlo synthetic stock has a 13.5-inch length of pull and a hinged floorplate for quick unloading. A cable trigger lock is included.
