Wheeler Scope Ring Alignment and Lapping Kit 34mm

The Wheeler Scope Ring Alignment and Lapping Kit 34mm is a gunsmith tool for preparing scope mounts. It is used to check that the front and rear scope rings are aligned before a scope is installed, and to lap the inside of the rings to smooth machining marks and reduce scope shifting.

The kit includes two alignment rods, a lapping rod with an 8-inch steel shaft and plastic ball handle, and a 1 oz jar of 220 grit silicon carbide lapping compound. It is designed for 34mm scope rings. Properly aligned rings give more contact with the scope tube, which helps keep the scope in place under recoil. After using the kit, the scope should be sighted in again.
