Description
Nice little varmint rifle from 1934-35, featuring very nice, clean, wood; clean metal; and what appears to be an original equipment Lyman peep sight. These rifles we bored with a very tight bore, 0.222 - .223 diameter. The modern ammo, dia .224", can be used, but watch for signs of overpressure. The tight bore actually offers very high accuracy, but hand-loaders should find bullets in the .223 cal. The .22 Hornet is one of those mild little workhorse cartridges, ideally suited to varminting and pest control to ranges in the neighborhood of 200 yards. They are relatively quiet and work well where noise, and recoil, are a concern.
