Description
The Winchester 1873 Sporter is a right-handed lever-action rifle chambered in 44-40 Winchester, built on the classic 1873 design. It is intended for shooters who want a traditional rifle with a dedicated, rifleman-style profile.
The rifle has a 24-inch octagon barrel with a blued finish and an overall length of 43 inches. It weighs 7.5 pounds and holds 13 rounds. The steel receiver, lever, crescent buttplate and forearm cap are color case hardened. The stock is walnut with a satin oil finish, and the sights are a gold bead front and a semi-buckhorn rear.
The crescent metal buttplate seats against the shoulder for a steady hold from any shooting position. The forearm is in the classic rifle style, and the metal is polished at the forend cap.
