Each component of the 1761 action is precisely machined and hand fitted, resulting in a short bolt throw of 60° with a smooth operation and minimal effort needed to cycle the action. Features of the 1761 action include a roller-bearing cocking piece to reduce the effort to cock the rifle, 3 robust locking lugs, and a spring/plunger ejector to ensure maximum reliability.
