Description
The Rock Island Armory GI Standard FS is a full-size semi-automatic pistol built on the 1911 platform, the design modeled on the original US military sidearm. It is chambered in .45 ACP and is intended for general shooting and carry, with fixed low-profile sights.
The pistol has a 5-inch barrel, a steel construction, and a nickel finish. It weighs 2.47 pounds and holds 8 rounds per magazine. The retailer text describes a factory trigger pull of roughly 4 to 6 pounds and smooth wood grips.
Because it is a 1911-pattern pistol, it uses 1911-style magazines and holsters designed for this frame size.
