Description
The Chiappa Rhino 40DS is a six-shot double-action/single-action revolver chambered in 9mm Luger. Its design fires from the bottom of the cylinder rather than the top, which lowers the bore axis close to the shooter's palm and is intended to reduce muzzle rise and felt recoil. The hammer is concealed within a fully enclosed firing mechanism, and a visible cocked indicator shows hammer status.
The revolver has a 4-inch barrel with a rail on the top and bottom, an aluminum alloy frame and barrel shroud, and a hexagonal cylinder that keeps overall width to a minimum. It weighs about 1.87 pounds and measures 8.5 inches overall. Sights are a fixed fiber optic front and an adjustable fiber optic rear. Listed package contents include moon clips, and the model is supplied with walnut grips.
The Rhino 40DS is offered in a black finish, with the frame and barrel black and the cylinder blued steel. The listed capacity is six rounds.
