Description
The Chiappa Rhino 40DS is a double-action/single-action revolver chambered in 357 Magnum. Its defining feature is a low bore axis that places the barrel near the shooter's palm, which is intended to reduce muzzle rise and felt recoil compared with conventional top-aligned revolvers. The revolver is offered with a chrome, nickel-plated finish.
The frame is aluminum alloy, and the 4-inch barrel is shrouded to keep the overall weight at about 1.87 pounds and the overall length at 8.5 inches. Sights are a fixed fiber optic front and an adjustable fiber optic rear. The cylinder holds six rounds. The raw specifications list a hexagonal cylinder and a snag-resistant hammer as additional features.
