Description
The Chiappa Rhino 40DS is a six-shot double-action/single-action revolver chambered in 357 Magnum, with 38 Special also listed as a supported caliber. Its defining feature is a low bore axis, which places the barrel near the shooter's hand and is intended to reduce muzzle rise and felt recoil compared with conventional revolver designs.
The revolver has a 4-inch barrel, an overall length of 8.5 inches, and a weight of 1.87 pounds. The frame and barrel shroud are aluminum alloy with a black anodized finish. Sighting is provided by an adjustable rear sight and a fiber optic front sight. The cylinder is hexagonal, and the hammer is designed to be snag resistant.
