This CMMG 5.7x28mm kit replaces the barrel and bolt carrier group of an AR-15 so the rifle can chamber and fire 5.7x28mm cartridges. The barrel is a 5-inch chrome moly steel unit with a nitride finish in black, paired with a bolt carrier group that uses CMMG's Radial Delayed Blowback operating system. According to the product description, this design reduces the weight of the bolt carrier group compared with typical direct blowback systems and results in less felt recoil.
The kit is intended for use with a CMMG Mk57 lower receiver or a standard AR-15 lower receiver when paired with CMMG 5.7 AR conversion magazines. It is sold as a bundle that includes the barrel and bolt carrier group.
