The CMMG Crush Washer is a black replacement-style washer used when installing a flash hider or muzzle brake on an AR-15 barrel. Its purpose is to help time the muzzle device to the correct rotational orientation during installation.
The washer is made for a 1/2-28 threaded barrel. As the muzzle device is torqued down, the crush washer compresses and flattens as needed, which allows the device to be set in the desired position and held there.
The washer fits AR-15 flash hiders and muzzle brakes that use a 1/2-28 thread. It is sold as a single crush washer.
