Colt 1911 Government Engravers Stainless 45 ACP 5" 7-Round Pistol

The Colt 1911 Government Engravers is a semi-automatic pistol built on the full-size 1911 Government platform and chambered in .45 Auto. It uses an external hammer and single-action trigger, with thumb and grip safeties as standard controls. The stainless steel finish and polished frame and slide are offered as a clean, unmarked surface for hand engraving, laser engraving, or relief work, and no factory sights are fitted so custom sights or ribs can be installed.

The pistol has a 5-inch single rifled barrel, an overall length of 8.5 inches, and a single-stack magazine that holds 7 rounds plus one in the chamber. Wood double diamond grips are fitted, and they can be replaced with custom grip panels after engraving is complete. The model is intended for custom gunsmiths, engravers, and collectors building a custom project on a Government-pattern 1911.
