Faxon's Gunner profile represents a fusion of two highly esteemed barrel profiles, the Gov't and Pencil. This innovative design marries the durability of the Gov't profile with the lightweight maneuverability of the Pencil profile. By shifting the balance of the rifle closer to the shooter's body, the Gunner profile reduces fatigue and enables prolonged shooting, training or hunting sessions. Crafted in-house from gun-barrel-quality bar-stock, Faxon's Match series barrels start with 416-R stainless steel and feature 5R rifling. The 5R rifling, a hybrid design with lands opposite grooves and reduced sharp angles, minimizes jacket deformation, enhances velocity and facilitates easy cleaning. Chambered in .223 Wylde, which optimizes accuracy by reducing bullet jump, each barrel undergoes meticulous MPI testing for maximum safety and reliability.
