The Faxon Gen 2 LR-308 is a bolt carrier group for AR-10 and LR-308 pattern rifles, chambered for 308 Winchester, 6.5 Creedmoor, and 8.6 Blackout. It is built to cycle the action and lock the bolt during firing in a semi-automatic rifle.
The carrier is made from 9310 steel and finished with a nitride treatment in black. The nitride finish raises surface hardness and improves corrosion resistance compared with chrome or phosphate finishes. The bolt is superfinished to reduce friction and fouling, and the bolt lugs are chamfered at 45 degrees. The extractor is made from S7 tool steel and shot peened.
The gas key is secured with grade 8 fasteners and staked in place. Confirm fit against your rifle's receiver and buffer system before installation.
