Description
The Henry Big Boy Side Gate Carbine is a lever-action rifle in 44 Magnum, built with a steel receiver and a color case hardened finish. It is suited to hunters and shooters who want a lighter alternative to brass-framed Henry models and a compact carbine for woods and vehicle use.
The 16.5-inch blued barrel and overall length of 34.1 inches keep the carbine handy in brush and dense cover. It weighs 7.41 pounds and carries seven rounds in its tube magazine, loaded through the side gate. The semi-buckhorn rear and brass bead front sights are range-adjustable, and the action includes an automatic in-hammer transfer bar safety. The stock is American walnut with checkering on the fore-end and a straight wrist.
The carbine chambers 44 Magnum and is also listed for 44 Special, allowing it to share ammunition with a revolver in the same caliber. Its slimmer profile is intended to fit saddle scabbards.
