Description
The Iver Johnson Target Sealed 8 is a classic, vintage American double-action/single-action revolver chambered in .22 Long Rifle with a 6" barrel.Produced primarily mid-century (ranging from the 1930s through the 1950s) by Iver Johnson Arms & Cycle Works, this solid-frame wheel-gun earned its "Sealed 8" moniker from its unique 8-shot cylinder configuration featuring counterbored (recessed) chambers. This design choice ensures that the rimmed heads of the .22 rimfire cartridges are completely enclosed by steel, serving as a dynamic safety barrier that seals against sideways powder flare or rare cartridge rim bursts.
