The KAK Industries M16 Profile Bolt Carrier Group is a replacement carrier and bolt assembly for AR-15 and M16 platform rifles chambered in 224 Valkyrie or 6.8 SPC. The carrier uses an M16 full-auto profile machined from 8620 steel, and the bolt is machined from 9310 steel, an alloy chosen to handle the higher pressures these cartridges generate compared with 5.56 NATO.
The group has a black manganese phosphate finish for corrosion resistance and weighs 11.68 ounces with an overall length of 7.13 inches. The carrier interior is chrome lined to reduce friction and fouling. Supporting parts include a billet-machined, phosphate-coated 4140 extractor, an 8740 chrome-plated firing pin, an S7 tool steel ejector, and a phosphate-coated, chrome-lined 4130 gas key.
