The Luth-AR MBA-3 is a modular buttstock assembly for .308 Carbine and AR-10 style rifles, sold as a bundle that includes the stock, a 6-position mil-spec buffer tube, buffer spring, buffer body, latch plate and lock ring. It replaces or upgrades a worn or broken stock on a compatible rifle.
The stock is made of glass-filled nylon and weighs about 1.13 pounds, or roughly 18 ounces, and comes in black. A flat-bottom 10-24 index set screw is intended to reduce rattle and lock the stock in position. The three-axis adjustable butt plate allows horizontal, vertical and lateral adjustment, and the stock adds up to 1 inch of cheek rest height and an additional 1-1/16 inch length of pull. A Picatinny rail on the bottom rear of the stock body accepts accessories.
The assembly is designed to fit the .308 Carbine and AR-10 mil-spec buffer tube and is advertised to fit all .223 and most .308 AR-style rifles. Certain aftermarket commercial buffer tubes exceeding 1.172 inches may not fit.
