SKS M59/66 7.62x39MM Semi-Auto Rifle

The SKS rifle was originally designed by Sergei Simonov in the Soviet Union in 1945. Its simple, rugged design made it popular worldwide, and many countries adopted their own licensed versions. In the 1960s, Yugoslavia began producing the SKS at the Zastava Arms factory. The Model 59/66 stands out thanks to its grenade launcher system, flip-up grenade sights, and a gas shutoff valve. Compared to Russian and Chinese models, the Yugoslavian version is considered more rugged but also heavier.
