Proof Research Pre-Fit Sig Cross 6mm Creedmoor 16" Carbon Fiber Barrel

Proof Research Pre-Fit Sig Cross Barrel Features The Proof Research Pre-Fit Barrel starts life as a full-profile match grade 416R stainless steel blank that is turned down to a reduced contour substantially cutting weight before it is ever wrapped in carbon fiber. That reduced steel core is then wrapped in high strength aerospace grade carbon fiber impregnated with Proof Research s proprietary matrix resin a patented process developed by their own advanced composites division. The carbon fiber wrap diffuses heat along the length of the barrel and moves it through the barrel wall far more effectively than steel alone which means the barrel cools faster and holds its accuracy over longer strings of fire. The end result is a barrel that matches the accuracy of a fine precision steel barrel while weighing significantly less and standing up to demanding field conditions. Built as a drop-in pre-fit for the Sig Sauer Cross this 6mm Creedmoor barrel comes in at 16 inches with a 1 in 7.5 inch twist rate a fast twist tuned for the heavier high ballistic coefficient bullets 6mm Creedmoor shooters favor at distance. A 5/8x24 threaded muzzle comes ready to accept a suppressor or muzzle brake without any additional gunsmithing. At 2 pounds 6 ounces the barrel keeps the Cross platform s overall weight down even with the added rigidity of the carbon fiber wrap. For Cross owners looking to shed weight manage heat better during long range sessions and maintain match grade accuracy this Proof Research pre-fit barrel is a direct drop-in upgrade.
