Proof Research Bolt Action Barrel Pre-Fit .260 Rem 18" Carbon Fiber 1:8 Twist

Proof Research Bolt Action Barrel Features The Proof Research Bolt Action Barrel is built as a true drop-in replacement for the Sig Cross engineered to headspace correctly without requiring a gunsmith to fit or chamber the barrel. This pre-fit design means Sig Cross owners can swap barrels at home something that was previously only possible by sending the rifle out for custom gunsmithing work. Chambered in .260 Remington the barrel is matched to a 1 in 8 twist rate a stabilizing rate for the heavier high ballistic coefficient bullets commonly used in long-range .260 Rem loads. Five grooves are cut into the carbon fiber-wrapped bore to impart spin on the bullet as it travels down the barrel. Constructed from carbon fiber over a steel liner the barrel offers meaningful weight savings over an equivalent steel barrel while also improving heat dissipation during strings of fire helping maintain accuracy as the barrel warms. The 18 inch barrel length balances velocity retention with a more maneuverable overall rifle length for field and precision use alike. A 5/8x24 threaded muzzle allows the installation of a muzzle brake or suppressor to manage recoil or signature. For Sig Cross owners looking to upgrade their factory barrel with a lighter drop-in carbon fiber option the Proof Research Bolt Action Barrel is a direct fit upgrade for sale at ARMSAGORA.
