Proof Research Bolt Action Barrel Pre-Fit .260 Rem 16" Carbon Fiber for Sig Cross

Proof Research Bolt Action Barrel Features The Proof Research Bolt Action Barrel is engineered as a true drop-in Pre-Fit for the Sig Cross platform meaning the barrel is guaranteed to headspace correctly without requiring a gunsmith to fit and chamber it. Chambered in .260 Rem the barrel measures 16 inches and carries a 1 in 8 inch twist rate paired with five grooves a combination tuned to stabilize the heavier higher ballistic coefficient bullets common in long-range .260 Rem loads. The Carbon Fiber wrapped construction reduces weight at the muzzle end compared to a steel barrel of the same contour which helps keep the rifle s balance forward-light for faster handling in the field. A 5/8x24 threaded muzzle accepts a wide range of muzzle brakes compensators and suppressors for shooters who want to manage recoil or sound signature. Because the barrel is designed as a stand-alone self-installable unit shooters can swap it onto their Sig Cross at home using basic tools avoiding the downtime and cost of shipping the rifle to a smith. The drop-in design preserves the factory bolt-to-barrel fit so accuracy and reliability are maintained after installation. Carbon fiber wrapped barrels also tend to dissipate heat differently than steel helping to delay the onset of accuracy-robbing mirage during strings of fire. For Sig Cross owners who want a quick-change option between calibers or a performance upgrade over the factory barrel the Proof Research Pre-Fit in .260 Rem offers a proven guaranteed-fit solution.
