Proof Research Bolt Action Barrel Pre-Fit .260 Rem 20" Stainless 1:8" Twist for Sig Cross

Proof Research Bolt Action Barrel Pre-Fit Features The Proof Research Bolt Action Barrel Pre-Fit eliminates the traditional barrel-swap bottleneck of sending a rifle out to a gunsmith since it is guaranteed to headspace correctly as a stand-alone drop-in part for the Sig Cross action. This direct-fit design lets an owner change calibers or replace a worn barrel from home cutting both the downtime and the cost normally associated with a barrel job. The stainless steel construction resists corrosion and holds a consistent finish over years of field and range use while the 20-inch length balances the .260 Rem cartridge s long-range ballistic performance with a manageable overall rifle length. A 1:8-inch twist rate stabilizes the heavier higher-ballistic-coefficient bullets that make .260 Rem effective at extended distances. Five-groove rifling is cut to Proof Research s exacting tolerances supporting the accuracy the company s barrels are known for among precision rifle shooters. The barrel s 5/8x24 thread pattern accepts standard muzzle brakes suppressors and other .260 Rem-compatible muzzle devices giving the shooter flexibility to configure the rifle for hunting competition or suppressed use. Because the barrel is purpose-built as a pre-fit for the Sig Cross installation requires no action truing or custom chambering just a drop-in fit. For Sig Cross owners looking to add a caliber option or upgrade their factory barrel this Proof Research pre-fit is a straightforward path to doing it themselves.
