To use the Redding Bullet Seating Micrometer simply line up the edge of the crimp groove and then take the case to the bench top where the chamber is opened and insert the plug from the cartridge case. After the seating die has been removed double check the seating depth by sight or by using the dip tube and visual gauge. If the seating depth is correct the die may very well be too deep and need only be seated deeper or the bullet is centered. If seating depth is spot on the bullet simply press the tip of the micrometer into the groove and the die will adjust to the proper seating depth.
