A Remington Model 37 Rangemaster chambered in .22 Long Rifle with a single shot magazine installed. The top of the barrel is marked "REMINGTON ARMS CO. INC. ILION, N.Y. MADE IN U.S.A. / PATENT NUMBERS 2,005,8662,007,0192,125,350" and "THE / RANGEMASTER / TRADE MARK / MODEL 37". The left side of the barrel is marked "Remington / REG.U.S.PAT.OFF." and "22 LONG RIFLE". The right side of the barrel is marked with inspection marks and the "XRR" date code (Nov 1946). The left side of the receiver's chamber ring is marked "04804". The front sight is a Redfield globe sight with a circular aperture insert marked "PAT 2,007,019", it is attached to a male dovetail base screwed to the barrel. The rear sight is a micrometer aperture peep sight screwed to the left of the receiver and is fully adjustable for windage and elevation. The rear sight is marked with a patent number "PAT 2,005,866". The top of the barrel has two additional male dovetail mounts installed. The stock is one-piece walnut with a semi-pistol grip, straight comb, inlaid accessory rail on the bottom, wide beavertail forend, and a checkered steel buttplate. There is a sling swivel installed on the accessory rail.
