Savage Arms A17 Rifle, .17 HMR, 22″ Barrel

The Savage Arms A17 revolutionized the rimfire market as the first high-performance, mass-produced semi-automatic rifle engineered explicitly for the high-velocity .17 HMR cartridge. Standard straight-blowback actions historically struggled to handle the high pressures generated by the .17 HMR, making semi-autos unsafe. Savage Arms solved this by designing an innovative delayed-blowback action that features a top-locking lug to ensure maximum safety, smooth cycling, and exceptional long-range varmint hunting accuracy.
