Savage Axis 2 400 Legend 20" Threaded Left Hand Bolt Action Rifle

Savage Axis 2 Features The Savage Arms Axis 2 is a bolt-action rifle chambered in .400 Legend built with thread-in headspacing and a precision button-rifled 20 barrel cut with a 1:16 twist to stabilize the cartridge s straight-wall bullets. The user-adjustable AccuTrigger lets a shooter set pull weight between 2.5 and 6 lbs delivering a cleaner more consistent break than a fixed factory trigger. An updated ergonomic bolt handle design improves grip and control during cycling which matters most in cold or wet conditions where a slick handle can slow down a follow-up shot in the field. The 11/16x24 threaded barrel accepts a muzzle brake or suppressor directly giving straight-wall cartridge hunters an easy way to manage recoil or sound where regulations allow. The fixed synthetic stock is finished in Gray and shaped with a contoured pistol grip and ambidextrous palm swells giving a repeatable cheek weld and stable hand position shot after shot. This left-hand configuration positions the bolt handle safety and ejection port correctly for a left-handed shooter removing the compromise of working a right-hand action. A 4-round detachable box magazine allows quick reloads in the field and the drilled and tapped receiver is ready to mount a scope base and rings for the optic of choice. At 6.80 lbs the Axis 2 stays light and maneuverable in the brush while still delivering the accuracy straight-wall cartridge hunters expect from a modern Savage rifle.
