The Shield Arms Glock 43X/48 magazine catch/release is a bronze steel replacement magazine release for Glock 43X and 48 pistols. It is ambidextrous, so it can be operated with either hand, and it features a chamfered, textured button and a lower profile intended for concealed carry.
The catch is optimized for use with Shield Arms S15 magazines, including both Gen 1 and Gen 2 versions. According to the manufacturer, it remains compatible with plastic OEM magazines, but it can cause increased wear on plastic magazines with prolonged use, and OEM magazines may not drop free. Shield Arms recommends steel on steel or plastic on plastic. First-generation aluminum catches may not work with Gen 2 S15 magazines.
