SMITH &WESSON ~ 1891, SECOND MODEL ~ .22 LONG RIFLE

The Second Model 1891 was designed by marrying a single shot barrel to an existing target revolver frame. This one was built around 1908 or 1909, and features most of the blue (est 60-70%), sharp checkering, and nice case color on the trigger guard/hammer. The rear sight is adjustable for windage. Single shot target competitions both formal and informal, were quite popular at the time. Targets often included insulators on telephone and electrical poles.
