Weatherby 307 Alpine MDT Features The Weatherby 307 Alpine MDT is built on the Model 307 action a two-lug fully cylindrical design meant to complement the historic Mark V and Vanguard lineups while offering broad compatibility with today s aftermarket parts market. Chambered in 7mm Backcountry the rifle pairs a 16 inch fluted barrel with an Accubrake muzzle brake adding 2 inches to the muzzle while reducing recoil from this reach-extending cartridge. The barrel is finished in Graphite Black Cerakote and rifled at a 1:8 twist rate to stabilize heavier 7mm bullets. An adjustable TriggerTech trigger and a two-position safety round out the action giving shooters precise repeatable control over every shot. Weatherby teamed with MDT to build an ultra-light carbon fiber chassis around the 307 action featuring a foldable buttstock that when collapsed cuts more than 9 inches from the rifle s total length for easier transport. An integrated Arca rail forend allows direct attachment of Arca-compatible bipods and tripods without needing an adapter while the rifle feeds from an AICS compatible magazine for easy sourcing of aftermarket magazines. Black carbon fiber grip panels complete the chassis and the receiver is drilled and tapped for scope mounting.
