CMC Enhanced Bolt Carrier Group 5.56 NATO 223 Rem Black Nitride

The CMC Enhanced Bolt Carrier Group is a replacement bolt carrier assembly for AR-15 rifles, intended for shooters who want a heavier carrier for reliable cycling. The flared rear of the carrier is designed to reduce carrier tilt and cant during recoil by relocating key bearing surfaces, and the carrier has fewer points of contact, which reduces friction area. The increased mass is meant to maintain gas pressure and dwell time, which the manufacturer states improves extraction when shooting suppressed or with short-barreled rifles.

The carrier body is made from case-hardened 8620 steel and finished in black nitride. The group is listed for 223 Remington, 5.56x45mm NATO and 300 Blackout chamberings and is designed to fit AR-15 rifles.
