Description

The CZ 457 Varmint is a bolt-action rimfire rifle chambered in .22 LR, built as the heavy-barreled version of the 457 line for target shooting and small game. Its barrel measures .866 inches in diameter and is cylindrical, which the manufacturer describes as helping with harmonics and accuracy across a range of rimfire loads.

The rifle has a 20.5-inch barrel, an overall length of 38.62 inches and a weight of 7.08 pounds. It is right-hand operated with a blued finish, a stainless steel receiver and a Turkish walnut stock with an American-style comb suited to a scope. The wide, flat forend rests well on a sandbag, and laser-cut stippling provides grip. The magazine holds 5 rounds. The rifle has no iron sights.

The receiver has an 11mm dovetail for scope ring mounts, and the bottom metal is a two-piece interlocking system. The bolt rotates 60 degrees, allowing larger ocular bell diameters with lower ring heights. The trigger is adjustable for weight, creep and over-travel.
