Description
The Faxon Match Series Gunner is a 16-inch AR-15 barrel chambered in 223 Wylde, intended for shooters building a mid-length gas system rifle. It is machined in-house from gun-barrel quality bar-stock steel and finished in black salt bath nitride for added durability.
The barrel is made from 416R stainless steel and uses 5R hybrid rifling with opposite-direction grooves, which the manufacturer states reduces jacket deformation and makes cleaning easier. The hybrid chamber is MPI inspected and particle inspected, and the barrel has an 11-degree target crown. The M4 barrel extension is coated in Nickel Teflon, which is said to tighten the fit with the receiver.
