Maxim Defense SBA Short Barrel is 7.62x39mm rifle ammunition loaded with 117 grain solid copper TUI projectiles. It is designed for short barrel rifles, where the shorter bore can reduce velocity and terminal performance compared with longer barrels. The loads were developed with Fort Scott Munitions to optimize velocity and terminal ballistics specifically for SBR use. The TUI (Tumble Upon Impact) design is intended to tumble on impact, with the manufacturer stating that the projectiles tumble down to 500 fps.
