Smith & Wesson Performance Center M&P15 AXE 5.56 NATO 16.1" Semi-Auto Rifle

The Smith & Wesson Performance Center M&P15 AXE is an AR-15 platform semi-automatic rifle chambered in 223 Remington and 5.56x45mm NATO. It is fully ambidextrous, with an ambidextrous bolt catch, magazine catch, and safety selector on the forged lower receiver, allowing manipulation from either shoulder. The rifle uses a GVAC gas system intended to reduce gas blowback when suppressed compared with a traditional direct-impingement format.

The rifle has a 16.1-inch barrel with a threaded muzzle for an ETM flash hider, weighs 6.5 pounds, and ships with front and rear flip sights. The aluminum receiver carries a gray Cerakote finish and accepts 30-round magazines. The flat trigger is designed to reduce side-to-side play during the trigger press.
