Zastava Yugoslavian Model 98 8x57mm Mauser Bolt Action Rifle

This Yugoslavian Model 98 is a fascinating piece of post-World War II military history, representing a genuine German Karabiner 98k that was captured, reworked, and repurposed. Chambered in the standard 7.92x57mm Mauser (8mm Mauser) cartridge, this rifle was refurbished at the historic "Preduzeće 44" (Enterprise 44) facilitythe state arsenal known today as Zastava Arms. The receiver ring displays a crisp, well-preserved Yugoslavian socialist state crest above the factory designation, while the receiver wall retains its original "Mod. 98" roll stamp. Built upon the legendary, ultra-reliable Mauser 98 controlled-round-feed action, this rifle blends rugged German engineering with post-war Balkan military heritage, making it an excellent shooter and a highly compelling addition to any military surplus collection.
