For your consideration we have a U.S. Springfield 1873. This rifle is in good condition for the age and would be an awesome addition to any collection. This was the standard U.S. Army service rifle during the Old West and Indian Wars. The trapdoor was intended to be a modification of muskets, but the 1873 model was a completely new production. The caliber is not stamped anywhere on the rifle, but the firearm was chambered in .45-70 when it was in production.
